The OTHER Gibson alternative....

A $200 WONDER!

Don't believe everything that you hear. You've heard that epic is the substandard stepson of Gibson, but don't buy that.Anyway, this has been my go to and main practice guitar forever. A few years ago I traded out the pups for a JB and a JAZZ and the ONLY thing I would change now a days is the pup covers. I'd swap them for black if I could. But from what I've seen that appears to be more of a pain than its worth
The neck on this feels awesome, the hardware is VERY nice at any price. Now obviously I eventually decided that the pups weren't cutting it, but even that was over a year after I bought it. Actually I decided that it was going to be my 1st ;. I had heard so much about the JB and JAZZ combo that I figured I HAD to have it. So off to ebay I went and $87 and some solder later it's off and running!
Of course the makeup of this guitar has very little, if any, affect on these pups, so if you know what they sound like great otherwise look fro the clip. I just wish I had some before clips fro you to compare it to.

This tthing is AMAZING, my "first" guitar after a 20 year break, and boy did I pick it right!
A MARS closeout, $199 WITH a 15w practice amp and I played for 2 years NON STOP and the NECK is GREAT
After my playing started to improve I started wanting better sounds with a wider tonal palette, so out came the soldering iron and the FIRT guitar project. The Evo now has a JB in the bridge and a JAZZ in the neck and it just SINGS.
Without a doubt, one of my BEST axes to date. But hey, there's always TOMORROW!
